Starting my first business wasn't easy. I worked a good 40 hours a week on it, PLUS I had a full-time job as a television director. I would work in front of my computer for hours and days on end. I remember telling my dad, who was a very successful entrepreneur, that I wished I could turn all the marketing stuff over to someone else and just concentrate on running my business. He told me that, if I wanted my business to be successful, I was going to have to figure out "that marketing stuff." Then, once I'd executed a successful exit strategy from that first business, I started providing marketing and digital strategy consulting for other businesses.
